NANO TECHNOLOGY
Nano technology is technology that manipulates materials at the nanoscale or about one to one hundred nanometers. One nanometer is equal to one billionth part of a meter, or the size of three to five atoms in a row.
1. Treatment
Nanotechnology is used in the development of more effective and efficient medicines. Nanoparticles can deliver drugs directly to diseased cells, speeding drug reaction times and reducing side effects. Nanotechnology is also used in disease diagnosis, such as nanosensors for detecting cancer.
2. Electronic
Nanotechnology is used in the production of smaller, lighter and more powerful electronics. Nano transistors, flash memory and LEDs are some examples of electronic products that utilize nano technology. Nanotechnology is also being used in the development of more efficient and longer-lasting batteries.
3. Environment
Nanotechnology is used in water and air treatment, as well as in emission reduction. Nanoparticles can help remove pollutants and microorganisms from water and air. Nanotechnology is also used in solar power generation and other alternative energy technologies.
4. Material
Nanotechnology can be used in the manufacture of new materials that are stronger, lighter and more durable. The nanoparticles could be used in the production of building materials, such as stronger and earthquake-resistant concrete. Nanotechnology is also used in the production of clothing that is durable and has antimicrobial properties.
While nanotechnology has great potential to change many aspects of our lives, there are also potential risks to be aware of. Some examples of risks associated with nanotechnology are health, environmental and social risks. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out sustainable and responsible research and development in the use of nanotechnology.
